EP 7 Being Diagnosed in the Middle Years (Midlife)

In this episode, I’m breaking into uncharted territory!  Episode 7 is my first interview!

In our middle years, we all encounter changes in our health.  This got me thinking, how would my life change if I were diagnosed with an illness at my age? How is it different for those that are diagnosed with an illness in midlife?

Recently, a very dear friend of mine was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 46.  Listen… as she talks to me about being diagnosed in midlife, her treatment plans, and how this diagnosis has changed the course of her future.

Happy Mothers Day!

On a whim, I decided to record a quick episode in honor of Mothers Day!  Happy Listening!

8 Ways to be a better friend MYP Ep 5

We’re backkkk! After a much needed hiatus, The Middle Years Podcast is back. We have been busy trying to get our blogs off the ground, and that took more time than we anticipated.

Michelle is up and running with BOTH of her blogs www.chowbellessima.com & www.paleofoodcritic.com, and my blog www.themiddleyearjourney.com is up with a new look!
With the new year, comes changes! I will have “solocast” episodes as well as episodes with Michelle. I am finally doing what I set out to do, which was to incorporate my blog with my podcast. I’m excited for the changes and what 2017 has in store.
In episode 5, I will discuss my latest blog post: 8 ways to be a better friend. Friendship is hard no matter what stage in life you are in. I hope these tips will help and you enjoy the episode!

EP 4 Book Club Selection “Year of Yes”

Hi Friends!!

This week’s episode marks our first selection of The Middle Years Book Club!  We discuss the New York Times Best Seller Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand In the Sun and Be Your Own Person, by Shonda Rhimes

Shonda Rhimes is the creator of Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, The Catch, Scandal and executive producer of How to Get Away With Murder.

This is a book that Michelle and I both recommend as a “must read”.  Shonda Rhimes changed her life over the course of 1 year.  She decided to face her fears, and “say yes to everything”!  In doing so, she grew not only as a Person, but a Mother, Sister, Boss, and Friend.

We talk about what we loved about the book, how we can relate to Shonda’s strife, and how women still don’t seem to get a fair shake, even in 2016.

Check out this book on Amazon, or take a note from Crystal and check it out on audio through Audible.com!

You won’t be disappointed!
